Sub-center of China Center for Evidence Based Traditional Chinese Medicine

To better promote the development of evidence-based traditional medicine, the China Center for Evidence-Based Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCEBTCM) has initiated the establishment of a sub-center network based in hospitals. This network leverages the research resources of CCEBTCM and the clinical expertise of its sub-centers to create an efficient, coordinated, and innovative research framework.

First Cohort of CCEBTCM Sub-centers
The first six branch centers include:
    Dongfang Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
    Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University
    First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
    Longhua Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
    First Affiliated Hospital, Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
    School of Chinese Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Mission and Objectives
The establishment of CCEBTCM sub-centers aims to bridge the gap between scientific evidence and clinical practice, addressing the long-standing issue of academic silos in traditional medicine. This initiative seeks to deepen the field of evidence-based traditional medicine research by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Areas of Work
Sub-centers will focus on the following areas:
· Evidence translation – Transforming research findings into practical clinical applications.
· Evidence application – Enhancing the integration of evidence-based approaches in clinical practice.
· Data management & sharing – Establishing a robust system for data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
· Clinical trial registration platform management – Strengthening trial registration and compliance processes.
· Training of evidence-based medicine professionals – Developing talent pipelines for the field of evidence-based traditional medicine.
By working together, CCEBTCM and its sub-centers are committed to advancing research and application capabilities in evidence-based traditional medicine. This will facilitate the production and clinical implementation of high-quality evidence, expand the role of traditional medicine in healthcare, and enhance its global influence and service capacity.
